Dayton vs. Whittell
Whittell has always been a battle of a game for us and this was no different. The girls won 2-1 last time we played them and we were looking to win again. It was a back and forth game until part way through the first half Whittell scored on a free kick to take the 1-0 lead which would stand as the final score. Our girls had several chances, but came up short in the end. Great play by our entire team was the story today, we just didn't get any shots to go in because of a strong defense on Whittell's part.

Dayton vs. South Tahoe
What can we say about this game. South Tahoe is a great team that moves the ball well and plays tough defense. Teams like this don't work well for us. We have a hard time getting the through ball on these teams. We got down close several times, but shots were hard to find. When you don't find shots, it is hard to find points. We lost this game 6-0, but as I always say, they didn't give up.

Dayton vs. Sparks
Here we go again, round 2 of a very tough game for the girls. There are some teams that always give you a hard time and Sparks is that team for us. They don't appear to be as skilled or work as well together, yet they seem to always leave with the victory. That was also the case in this game where the girls walked away with a 2-1 loss. The game was more like a rugby game that soccer where many physical plays were not called. I don't like to complain about officials, it just seems that there are some officials that call certain things and not others. Even with that, the girls hung in there, fought hard and didnt' quit. That is what makes this a special team this year, they don't quit!

Dayton vs. Incline
In a rematch from earlier in the year, the girls traveled to Incline for the rematch of the best game of the year that I have seen yet. The hard part was that Incline had just started to play very well and continue to do so now. We lost 7-0 after a long first half giving up 5 goals. The girls stepped up and played better the second half slowing down the Incline attack while starting to create some of our own. All in all Incline played a better game, but I love the attitude of the girls to never give up. As coach says, "first to the ball, last to give up."

Dayton vs Fallon
Fallon isn't in our Lake league, but they are a great team in the other league. We played a great game and even took an early 1-0 lead. Fallon scored 2 times before the half was over to take the 2-1 lead which would be the final score as the girls would play to a 0-0 2nd half. The girls played great as a team again, but made a couple of mistakes in the back that gave scoring chances that we will learn to prevent.
Below is Maribel's goal where she flicked it over the keeper and got it to roll in.
Sam getting ready to head the ball, almost made it in too.
Susie taking the goalie out. Way to crash the goal!
Sam being taken out while trying to shoot.
